Project IDX by Google

Project IDX by Google is a browser-based, cloud-powered development environment designed to streamline full-stack and multiplatform application creation from any device. Built on the open-source foundation of Visual Studio Code (Code OSS) and hosted on secure Google Cloud Linux virtual machines, it eliminates local setup friction by offering pre-configured templates for popular frameworks like React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, and Flutter. The platform integrates Google’s Gemini models directly into the workspace to provide intelligent code completion, contextual chat assistance, and multi-modal prototyping agents, alongside built-in multi-platform previews and seamless deployment workflows to Firebase and Cloud Run.
